Lorena S. Pacheco, R.D.
is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's in Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University. She completed her Dietetic Internship through Sodexo Distance Dietetic Internship Program and is currently the new addition to the A+ Nutrition Dietitian team. Lorena has experience as a Clinical Dietitian in the Acute Care setting as well as in the Outpatient/Private Practice field.
Since Lorena has a Chinese and Hispanic background, she is culturally competent with individuals with different heritages and customs and she speaks both Spanish and English.

She was a McNair Scholar when she was at San Diego State University. Being a McNair Scholar gave Lorena the opportunity to engage in research, present at conferences and be a published author. Lorena has also been published in the magazine Flavor and Fortune ("Liang Ah Fai and His Imperial Palacio" Fall Volume: 2006 Issue: 13(3) page(s): 5, 33, and 34 ), which is dedicated to Chinese culture and cuisine. She published this article with her sister, looking to pay homage to their Chinese grandfather and the Chinese restaurant he made famous in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
Her hobbies include cooking and enjoying the many distinct things San Diego has to offer, being one of them a city full of flavors and aromas. She likes how San Diego is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines. When cooking, Lorena likes to prepare Chinese and/or Mexican dishes as well as Italian fare.
Lorena is involved in the nutrition community as a member of the American Dietetic Association, California Dietetic Association, and the San Diego chapters.
